About Firefly
Breeding
Firefly was produced by RainDancer Miniature American Shepherds, Montana, USA. We welcomed Firefly at 4 months of age when, at the time, we lived in Wales, United Kingdom.
Structure
Firefly has a nice structure and superb movement, with excellent reach and drive. She is naturally stacks and exhibits flying changes in movement. She has well set ears and a solid build.
Color
Firefly is a red merle, with a white blaze and collar. She produces flashy puppies with a classical markings.
Personality
Firefly is happy, keen, willing and oh so smart – we really are very lucky to have her! She has fantastic temperament and a keen work ethic. She doesn’t need telling twice, if you’re ready to go, so is she, and she puts 100% into everything she does. She doesn’t require high value rewards, she works for the love of working! She has an excellent off-switch, settling perfectly out and about or at home.
Firefly loves to smile – look out for her pearly whites when you meet her, the best people get the biggest grin from her!
Activities
Firefly commands any room with her amazing structure and confidence. She attended her first conformation show in Paris, France in January 2019 at 5 months of age. She was awarded Best Baby Female, Best Baby of Breed and competed in the Ring of Honour for Best Baby in Show.
In 2019 Firefly was selected to take part in the Kennel Club’s Puppy Display Team at Crufts – Firefly adored the experience and strutted her stuff during the displays like a pro!
She is a talented obedience and rally dog and was invited AKC Rally Nationals in 2020. She also has excellent herding instinct, and is the only one of our dogs we currently herd with. In the UK Firefly had her own flock of geese to work.
She also has her Temperament Test title and Farm Dog Certification title and enjoys Fast Cat (has her DCAT).

Her sire, Royce, has amazing bone and conformation. He loves agility, has a strong herding drive, and comes from a line of show Champions. He is 43 cm / 17”.

CH RainDancer’s Whispering Tree at Roakwood
Her dam, Rowan, was producer at RainDancer and is a natural mover , stemming from great US show lines, incl. MercyMe, Bold Legend, Chandra and Patchwork’s package.
She is 39 cm / 15” in height.
